New Recruits

Dear Residents,

We’re pleased to let you know that yesterday I had the pleasure of meeting the latest recruitment of PCSO's for the York area.

In the new year they will be fresh out of the class room with two students coming to your local area (Micklegate and Micklegate outer) where they will be tutored by experienced PCSO's for the next approx 12 weeks.

Over those 12 weeks these new PCSOs will be tutored within your local area, giving them the opportunity to learn the role while getting to know our community, our priorities, and the people we serve. You can expect to see them out and about with experienced officers as they begin to build confidence and familiarity with neighbourhood policing.

Once their tutorship is complete, they will become permanent members of our neighbourhood team, helping us continue to provide a visible, approachable, and proactive presence across the area.

Please join us in giving them a warm welcome. If you see them on patrol, feel free to stop for a chat—they’re here to support you.
